Qu'ils fassent partie d'une mémoire collective ou individuelle, les vestiges de la Première Guerre mondiale qui subsistent aujourd’hui sont autant de témoins silencieux d’un conflit qui a profondément marqué l’histoire et continue de marquer notre présent.
La série Champs d'Honneur est une réflexion visuelle sur les traces laissées par la guerre dans le paysage culturel et émotionnel alsacien mais aussi une façon de questionner plus largement la manière dont la mémoire des conflits passés bénéficie aux enjeux actuels, qu’ils soient politiques ou humains.
Ces photographies, fruit d’un travail de terrain entre le Haut-Rhin et le Bas-Rhin, montrent ces sites centenaires sous une lumière nouvelle. Elles laissent place à une interprétation introspective et personnelle des vestiges qui nous entoure dans laquelle la mémoire des lieux devient palpable, comme une énergie invisible qui aurait subsisté malgré le passage du temps.
As part of a collective or individual memory, the remains of the First World War that remain today are silent witnesses to a conflict that profoundly marked history and continues to shape our present.
The series Fields of Honor is a visual reflection on the traces left by the war in the local cultural in Alsace (border between France and Germany) and emotional landscape, but also a way to broadly question how the memory of past conflicts benefits current issues, on political or human aspects.
These photographs, the result of a fieldwork between Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin areas (both located in Alsace), show these centuries-old sites under a new light. They give way to an introspective and personal interpretation of the remains that surround us, in which the memory of these places becomes palpable, like an invisible energy that has persisted despite time.

Ces photographies ont été réalisées par combinaison de plusieurs expositions. En conservant un cadrage strictement identique, différentes zones de l'image ont été éclairées prise après prise. Un processus photographique qui implique la superposition d'images en post-production pour lesquelles il fût nécéssaire d'anticiper les zones à éclairer et l'emplacement de chaque source de lumière. Le travail de post-production a révélé l'image telle qu'elle avait été interprétée, imaginée, mais sans pouvoir la valider à la prise de vue.

These photographs were made by combining several exposures.
By maintaining a strictly identical framing, different areas of the image were lit shot after shot. A photographic process that involves the superposition of images in post-production for which it was necessary to anticipate the areas to be lit and the location of each light source.
The post-production work revealed the image as it had been interpreted, imagined, but without being able to validate it at the time of shooting.
